The organization was earlier the Indigenous Teaching & Learning Circle and Indigenous Discussion Group with support from then-Dean Dr. J. Gaskell (OISE) and then-Chair Dr. G. Dei (Sociology & Equity Studies) in 2006. The following year Dr. EM Antone (Emerita) invited the organization to include her work on Native Literacy and Language in our online reports as Provost was then a Research Assistant on Dr. Antone's research on the same subject matter from Arawak Metis/Mestisaje perspectives which brought continuity back to First Contact to the work. WITLCC receives the continued support of Dr. A. Miles and Dr. G. Jones, Dean. Jinan Kodapully, author of Education for Authenticity and Cultural Rootedness (India) is now on our Editorial Board. WITL conducts its practice primarily via the internet as is customary in our era. Our focus continues to be maternal and family healing centred, through native language learning and preservation, music, arts, play and games, these being languages of imagery. Beginning from Arawak and related peoples Indigenous and Mestisaje blended families, spiritual wayfinding, precepts, protocols, perspectives and cultural contexts as they occur in maternal societies along with the Family Principle, Fudokoyo and the Giving Principle, Borotoa our aim is equal access, feasibulity and supports for attaining the social determinants of health and education that is free, equal, inclusive, valuable, and culture appropriate for all. This is important in our era of Polar Shift which is the primary cause of Climate Change and so we seek to understand pre-contact societies and their knowledge systems for survivance. This resembles and supports the approaches of Heide Gottner-Abendroth, Genevieve Vaughan, George Dei and Angela Miles and other esteemed teacher researchers. This work is intended to support International, World and Global Indigenous and Mestisaje persons and people groups and is presented for public educational and information in Indigenous and Mestisaje learning, teaching, education and human and environmental health.
