It's gone to UA, very little changed overall from the text you last saw here. I expect that some people will misunderstand the distinctions between across the curriculum and in the disciplines, and the varieties of writing intensive courses, but I decided finally that to make all crystal clear would require too much space and more explanation than most readers would tolerate.
I have asked the editor to print it as an "Opinion" (or Counter-Opinion) in June, saying that the wide and deep input and support justifies its getting more attention/taking up more space than an individual author's letter to the editor. I wait to see what she says.
