Some of you probably know that the University of Calgary has a campus in
Qatar. The main program of studies is Nursing, but Nursing students
require a wide variety of option courses, including courses in academic
writing, so this presents an interesting opportunity. They want people
who are willing to commit to at least a year and would prefer people to
commit to a longer stay, and are willing to offer full-time limited term
appointments at either the instructor or the professor level.
Currently, the Faculty of Nursing in Qatar is looking for someone to
teach Academic Writing 303 in Fall 2009. The search is on as we speak,
so if you are interested -- especially if you are currently an
underemployed sessional or a newly graduating student -- now is the time
to indicate interest. You should at least make contact before the end of
the week, whether or not you want to make an official application. This
particular opportunity may be gone already, but the need is ongoing so
it is worth checking it out.
This job posting is on the HR site (http://www.ucalgary.ca/hr/careers)
-- search #7501. I have pasted it below for convenience. Anyone
interested is welcome to contact me for more information.
