I've heard from 9 people who are interested in a one-day Inkshed
meeting, Tuesday June 1 in Montreal immediately after CASDW. I'll try
to arrange for a room in the next few days and communicate the meeting
place to these lists. If others want to add their name to the list of
attendees for this Inkshed, email me so that I have some idea of how
many people may attend.
What will we do? The consensus of the group that met last year at
Congress was that it should, at least in part, be a working
conference. To that end, we'll encourage attendees to bring drafts of
work to present/exchange/comment on. We'll let the writers determine
the kind of work they think the group can do for them--listen to ideas
(presentation), respond to a draft (inkshed), and co-author a text are
some variations that come to mind. I plan to bring an incomplete draft
of an article on writing across the curriculum that I'm working on to
get response from the group.
I'll put together an email list from those who indicated an interest
in participating, and that group will plan the day. So if you are
interested in participating let me know ([log in to unmask]).
Perhaps we'll even figure out a way to include people who can't be
there physically in the process (providing we have a good internet
connection).
