Hi Marcy,
Welcome to last-minute prep. Actually, you've probably been there before,
so you won't need a welcome.
Anyway, one reading for literary analysis is Edward Corbett's early
analysis of Swift's "A Modest Proposal." Some may see this 1966 work as a
bit dated, but it's a classic. If you know it, great; if not, it sets out
a lot of basics for traditional literary prose analysis.
It was originally published in _Reflections on High School English_." Ed.
Gary Tate (Tulsa: U of Tulsa) 1966. 106-124.
It's been republished a lot. You might have _A Writing Teacher's
Sourcebook._ Eds. E.P.J. Corbett and Gary Tate (New York: U of Oxford P)
1981. 333 - 352.
Good luck.
Henry
