Thanks to all who responded on this topic.

This is the way my neurologist set up my schedule. The regular
Sinemet kicks in quickly but lasts a short time, while the CR takes
longer to get started. So the regular Sinemet provides a quick
start first thing in the morning and later fills in the gaps between
times when CR is effective. In theory -- and most of the time in
fact.

Can't say. In theory it's supposed to be somewhat neuroprotective,
and from that aspect it would be impossible to notice a difference
from one day to the next. Also, I think it takes several days to
completely flush out of the body, so perhaps here is another reason
why stopping cold would not be noticed.

Barry Black, who responded off the list, suggested that relaxation
and absence of stress helps. This makes sense to me, because I think
it is the sphincter between the stomach and the intestines, known as
the pylorus, that is holding things up and that needs to be relaxed.

Yep! Today was a good pill day.

Best wishes for good pill days to all,
