I'd have to concur with Don Berns' comments regarding Dr. Robert Iacono's medical and surgical ability. While Dr. Iacono didn't perform MY unilateral pallidotomy, he assisted Stanford's Dr. Gary Heit who did my very successful surgery over 6 years ago. In my opinion, in the 25+ years I've had PD, Dr Iacono has been a glowing light amongst the many neurosurgeons and/or neurologists I've seen, both as a patient and as a PD support group moderator. And believe me. I know he's not perfect and HE knows he's not perfect, but darn, he sure TRIES to be when he's seeing or treating a patient! And THAT'S more than I can say about alotta other MDs!
