If Sinemet makes you "sick to your stomach" you should know there is help
for this.  Sinemet is made up of two "drugs" - levodopa (to increase the
levels of dopamine in the brain) and carbidopa (to prevent the breakdown of
levodopa in the gut which can cause GI upsets).  If the amount of carbidopa
in a regular Sinemet pill isn't enough to sufficiently lessen or eliminate
the upset stomach you experience when taking Sinemet, your doctor can get
plain carbidopa for you - AT NO COST!.  The manufacturers of Sinemet
understand that some patients are more sensitive to the levodopa reaction in
the gut so they provide plain carbidopa, free of charge, (but only via your
doctor).
