Mama, at one time, could "taste" her medications. She, also, smelled it constantly and it was nasty. She didn't have ringing in her ears but she always felt a gurgling sensation in her left ear. I took a Q-tip and swabbed both ears. Her right ear contained a little wax and had no odor. Her left ear had a lot of wax and smelled horrible. I think that was the "taste" and odor she was experiencing. I don't think she has had that experience since her pallidotomy. Hmm...
