I am so sorry I returned some of the early emails that I thought were
missent to me. as I read all the postings that are to each other I have come
to realize what this is.. I thought that I was signing my friend in
Australia up on a medical site for information only. I had no idea how much
love and compassion I would witness between allof you..I hope john decides
to accept the help that you all seem so willing to extend. He is someone who
I have known through the internet and he has had pd for about 10 years. I
have spent this year since I met him trying to find anything that might be
new that his neuro in melbourne may have missed: whether tested or in tested
meds as his are not working as they had even 8 months ago. You all know the
process I dont believe I need to explain how he feels knowing the ldopa and
the others are not as effective as they were. He has to retire very soon
from a job in nuclear medicine he trained for and loves... The doctor said
this to him on monday: you have pd... you know the progression .. and there
is no cure.. the only thing that will help is to not raise the meds to a
level that later you will need. As I say this my heart is breaking.. I wish
for all of you the hope that somewhere there is someone who will find the
link to why and how to prevent it. But meanwhile, at least stop the
progression of pd in those who now suffer as he at 48 does.
