When an HTML-capable mailer sees a "<" (less-than character)
followed fairly closely by a ">" (greater-than character) it will
typically interpret the text between as an HTML tag for format-
ting ... no matter how many "quoting characters" (e.g the "> " at
the beginning of a line) appear.
So, what is "quoted" above will look "normal" in an HTML-capa-
ble mailer and the reader wont see what the sender is talking
about -- it will look normal to them. But, ...
If you want to show someone the "ORIGINAL MESS/TOO MUCH SPACE"
in what *you* see as the actual HTML you have to change the "tag
characters" to something else, perhaps like:

In this way *their* mailer wont see actual HTML. They will,
instead, see something similar to what you're seeing and under-
stand what you're talking about.
In a public forum such as this -- where you cannot guarantee
that everyone has an HTML-capable mailer -- you should always
change your mail sending preferences/options to send plain text
only.
