Dale, The effect of a mild stroke can produce symptoms similar to Parkinson's. Any lack of blood / oxygen sufficiency can produce Parkinson's disease like symptoms. This is usually referred to as parkinsonism rather than Parkinson's or PD. In Europe, particularly eastern Europe, parkinsonism is a term used to describe stroke / arterial constriction.
