Re Requip and sudden sleep: (Or any Rx or OTC drug that causes driving impairment:) Most states include these drugs/medicines under the DUI (drunk driving) laws. Punishment under the law is the same as if any one was drinking and driving. Questions: 1. Because doctors report to the state government licensing agency when they think a patient is not capable of safely driving, is being prescribed Requip, or other RX medication, a reason to be denied a driver license? Does anyone know if this has been done? 2. If the patient is unaware of sudden sleep attacks Requip has been said to cause, could the doctor and/or pharmacist be held liable for actions of a patient driving "under the influence" because they provided the patient with the drug(s)?
