Michael J. Fox quits "Spin City" to fight Parkinson's

LOS ANGELES, Jan 18, 2000 (Reuters) - Actor Michael J. Fox, citing his
battle against Parkinson's disease, a debilitating nervous system
disorder, said on Tuesday he would leave his hit ABC TV show ``Spin
City'' at the end of the season.

Fox, 38, who revealed two years ago that he had been suffering from
Parkinson's since 1991, said in a statement he felt his time and energy
``would be better spent with my family and working towards a cure.''
