Because, often the reply makes absolutely NO sense at all if the reader
does not know what was replied to. Often the "Subject" is not valid
because the "thread" of the messages has gotten tangled in the reply
process.
If the entire message is not necessary ---- forward only the portion that
is pertinent to the reply.
Not sending a copy of at least at portion of the message makes many of the
replies the equivalent of junk mail if the reader missed the original
posting.

Why do most people when they reply include the
original message?
Because of the time and space it takes up is
there a good reason to do this other your to dam lazy to start a new message.
If your responding to a particular message just refer to it.
Now I'm going to go sulk because I can't use
