i got a call from our T.V station about PD. he said he has done his home
work on it and me. asked if i would go on and tell what i know. said he
talked to my nero and others. said 31 years is long time and thought i could
give lot of good advice. am not sure if i am qalliivife. also i would not
talk on meds. as all of is different. all i know is what i have gone
through. M.J.F. is begging to learn what it is like. so i would let him
know. so those on the list that know me do think i can represent us whit
good advice. (Greg) you are initialed to u.r opine but one thing i have
learned is to keep a tight time on taking your meds. and not to change which
out your doc. advice. i am not flaming you. imo as you have yours. good it
way be working for you but what is the best for the most. just be cause i
am only 75 and had PD for 31 years does not mean i can and know it all
friends? i am a little down now. so if most think i can do us any good i
will try it. so i am asking for help. FROM THE LIST.

talk about what I know. He said he's already talked to my neuro and to

I am not sure if I am qualified. Also, I would not talk about specific
medication dosages, since all of us are different. All I know is what I
have gone through. M.J.F. is begging to learn what it is like, so I would
let him know. So, to those on the list who know me, do you think I can
represent us with good advice?
Greg, you are entitled to your opinion, but one thing I have learned is
to keep a tight time on taking your meds. and don't change them without
your doctor's advice. I am not flaming you. I have my opinion as you have yours.
If what you are doing works for you, that's good, but it may not be what is
best for the majority. Just because I am only 75 and have had PD for 31 years
does not mean I know it all.
Friends? I am a little down now, so if most of you think I can do us any good,
I will try it, so I am asking for help FROM THE LIST.

I definately think you should do this. You may not, as you say, "know it all",

In the grand old tradition of the stage, I was gonna tell you to
"Break a leg," but remembering your penchant for climbing up
ladders to repair the roof and other home repair jobs you
regularly tackle, I figured THAT should be the very LAST thing
anyone should ever say to YOU <grin> (Just teasing ya, Don)
Sooooo.. here's some advice which is actually valuable for you 'n
those other PWPs who plan on making TV appearances:
Wear a solid color suit or shirt and slacks when appearing before
the camera as busy patterns tend to distract the typical viewer
'cause by some trick of the camera, busy patterns appear to MOVE
(You'd never see OPRAH wearing plaid when she's filming!) <smile>

Hmmm... (thinking)...Actually, considering the nature of PD, I
wonder if a Parkie with a tremor and wearing a plaid shirt, would
look like they WEREN'T moving, presuming the plaid of the shirt
would VISUALLY counter balance or in some other way negate the
body movement caused by the disease.
