Doug, One sinemet every four hours is hardly "a lot" of medication. That is very minimal actually. Do you see another neurologist that specializing in Parkinson's or are you just at the Mayo Clinic? Are you from Rochester? Or, do you travel to get your mother there? And...finally, if you are not from Rochester, where are you from? I ask because I am also in Minnesota...Saint Cloud...and there are clinics in the Minneapolis area that specialize in Parkinson's only....I would think you mother would find it very beneficial to visit someone and ask their opinion on her treatment. I also don't believe that the medication is causing her ALL of the symptoms she is showing...but, some of them are side effects of sinemet. You should find out just what medications she is on...strength and quantity she is taking. You need this information to get the proper help.
