Hi Rosemary,
Last November the Arizona Chapter of the National Parkinson Foundation,
presented a 90 minute discussion on The Importance of Wellness for People
with Parkinson's. Speakers dealt with Physical Wellness, Spiritual
Wellness, Intellectual Wellness, Emotional Wellness, and Social
Wellness.
Physical Wellness demonstrated various exercises for folks to participate
in, including the disk sit, which helps with balance in a safe manner,,
and speech exercises.
Spiritual Wellness dealt with sensitivity to awareness of the world about
us. Intellectual Wellness the importance of using the senses to acquire
new knowledge, exercises in using our minds. Emotional and Social
Wellness emphasized the use of rational thought to address and
appreciated the importance of feelings before actions, along with the
importance of social interaction with others in the human and animal
world.
We had a great time, and came away with an eager desire to recognize our
special humanity.
If you would like more information, please feel free to contact me off
list.

Hi, I have posted a
few times on this list and have received some valued help. Here I am
again.
My husband and I have been asked to lead a workshop on "Facing
Debilitating Illness" at a conference on Health & Wellness:
Ministry Tools for a New Century.
I am sure many of you could give us some
tips to include in such a workshop. It is happening on March 4 so we
don't have a lot of time to get it together. In case anybody living in
So. Calif. is interested, it will be at the United Methodist Church and
is open to everyone. Many thanks for your help.
