Hello! I was talking with my Mom today (she's 72, dx 5 years ago, on Sinemet and Comtan) and she said that she'd had a thought about a possible environmental exposure that may have caused or contributed to her Parkinson's. She was a medical technologist for many years, and used to sit at her station preparing microscope slides and used xylene as a fixative. She liked the smell of it and kept it open by her as she worked. She's wondering now about that. Anyone ever hear of this kind of exposure mentioned as a cause or factor in Parkinson's? Any other med techs out there with Parkinson's? Just curious.
