January 30, 2000

DEAR LIST MEMBERS, PARTICULARLY ANYONE RESIDING IN SOUTH FLORIDA, VISITING
FOR THE WINTER, KNOWING OTHERS VISITING HERE FOR THE WINTER, OR ABLE TO BOARD
A PLANE FOR THE WEEKEND . . .

TAKE CHARGE AMERICA - CURE PARKINSON'S, INC.(TCACP), established as a not-for
profit organization, is holding its first annual day at the races, ON TRACK
FOR THE CURE at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale on Sunday February 27, 2000.
Promoting the event will help raise awareness and the money we raise will go
towards research to find the cure.

Mark your calendars for a fun day at the races and call now to reserve your
tickets. Plan on joining Fran and I and Kathrynne Holden, whom many of you do
know, at Gulfstream Park. There are two types of tickets available, with and
without lunch.

ALL TICKETS INCLUDE entrance to Gulfstream Park, general parking, a concert
by David Gates, formerly of BREAD, and lots of things to do for the
youngsters. There will be Pony Rides, Petting Zoo, Sports Inflatables, a
Bounce House, Clowns, Young at Art, a special event in the Junior Jockey Club
and an exhibit with Rain Forest Birds. Watch thoroughbred horses parade
around the paddock area while you are seated comfortably on lawn chairs set
out on the grass.

LUNCHEON TICKETS FOR THE TERRACE DOME are $30 for adults and $15 for
children. We must have your check for the luncheon tickets by February 17th
since the chef must place his orders in advance. With this ticket you may use
these seats in the restaurant, adjacent to the track, throughout the entire
day. There are tablecloths, and ceiling fans and sliding windows that open
directly to the greenery outdoors and a clear view of the thoroughbred horses
sprinting around the track at incredible speeds.

THE CLUBHOUSE ADMISSION TICKET is $10 and we have a bit more leeway with this
ticket since you will be purchasing your lunch at the various concessions
throughout the park. Even so, as many tickets sold in advance as possible,
will assist us in planning and preparations for the day of the event.

RAFFLES, PRIZES AND ITEMS FOR AUCTION

Additionally, TAKE CHARGE AMERICA - CURE PARKINSON'S, will raffle off prizes
and some of South Florida's most exciting and prominent businesses have
donated exceptional items for TCACP to auction including such things as gift
certificates for dinner at the upscale restaurant, BROOKS in Deerfield Beach
and a makeover at a beauty salon in Boca Raton.

Truly exciting for us are TICKETS FOR 2 RIDES ON THE GOODYEAR BLIMP! We are
especially excited about this because you can no longer purchase tickets for
this once in a lifetime experience that brings with it an awesome view of
South Florida with its remarkable white sandy beaches, palm trees and blue
skies.

RACE DEDICATED TO PARKINSON'S!

The sound of thundering hooves of thoroughbred horses racing to the finish
line will add to the excitement throughout the day. One of the races in the
Program will be Dedicated to Parkinson's Disease and Finding the Cure and 4
people will win the opportunity to have their photograph taken in the
Winner's Circle with the winner of this very special race.

SPONSOR AD BOOKLET

We are putting together a Sponsor Ad Booklet and wish to include several
pages with items written by the talented people on this ListServe. It would
be greatly appreciated and a tremendous help, as we too are a grass roots
effort, if anyone could e-mail (off-list) some sample items that will provide
a moving testimony to attendees and sponsors alike, the experience of living
with Parkinson's. (PLEASE SEND AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. I MUST HAVE ALL MATERIAL
TO THE PRINTER BY FEBRUARY 13TH.)

Please send by e-mail, a copy of a letter, poem, or short story that you feel
will further our cause of raising awareness and funds for research. If anyone
can find items of this nature in the archives and get permission of the
author to use their writing in our booklet, we welcome your assistance. We
will acknowledge the writer in a byline. We will select as many submissions
as we have room for and might well use the others in subsequent events.

We are reaching out to our local community for support of this event. And to
individuals on this wonderful ListServe, join us in person if you can. And if
the miles are too many and far between, join us in spirit by spreading the
word and sending us your writings to be included in our first annual Sponsor
Booklet ON TRACK FOR THE CURE at Gulfstream Park, February 27, 2000.

Those of you living in South Florida who may not be able to attend, you can
still support this effort by talking to your neighbors and your local
merchants about TCACP and this first annual ON TRACK FOR THE CURE at
Gulfstream Park in Hallandale.

Wheelchairs are available for transporting purposes only, to your seating
area. Valet parking is an additional $5.00.

Donations are tax deductible. For lunch in the Terrace Dome, adult tickets
are $30.00, children's tickets are $15.00. Clubhouse Admission tickets
without lunch, are $10.00. Remember that checks for the Terrace Dome Tickets
must be received by February 17th as orders must be placed with the chef.
