Nancy.... "Eye gunk and grit:" is pretty common for the average PWP. After 25 years trying to win a few battles, if not the war, I've come up with some modifications to my daily routine which noticeably improve my quality of life, such as the following for relief of "Eye gunk and grit." Just before going to bed and first thing upon arising in the morning (Well, ya might wanna stop for a pit stop first) <grin> you might try gently washing around your eyes using tepid or even coolish water plus a drop or two of baby shampoo (I use Johnsons & Johnsons). ALSO - gently ("Gently" is the key word here, m'dear) dab a bit of a "for eyes only" eye cream or lotion around your eyes after rinsing off the shampoo, and FINALLY, just before ya turn off your lights at nite, consider investing in a good eye-drops and give each eye a coupla drops. Ditto upon waking up.... I wish I could guarantee ya this will work for you as it does for me... But if it doesn't work, you should perhaps visit an eye specialist just to make sure the cause of the problem is PD and not an infection of some sort. Errrrr.... or ya can go to an eye doc BEFORE ya change your daily routine.
