 I see that Barb has suggested one thing I have seen for those who have a
hard time sleeping with outside noise. It should work as it does for those
who have tintinitis.   I think you might consider putting the batteries back
in the smoke alarms.  It concerns me to think of the danger of not being
warned in case of a fire. Also, fire insurance may not pay if you have
installed alarms but have removed the batteries.  I know they have denied
payment here I have read.
