When going into a restaurant, simply ask for a table closer to the door.  If
they try to seat you too far away for your confort in walking, stop walking
and tell whomever is seating you that the table they are suggesting is
unacceptable.  When making airline reservations, tell them you have a
physical disability and wish to be seated closer to the front.  Also,
utilize the services the airports have such as wheelchairs, early boarding,
etc.  They are in place just for people like you!  In other words,  you must
speak up or you won't get the service you require.
