FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
HOLLY ROBINSON-PEETE and RODNEY PEETE to Co-Captain TEAM PARKINSON at
the Los Angeles Marathon.

Holly Robinson-Peete, star of the hit television comedy series "For Your
Love", and Rodney Peete, quarterback for the Washington Redskins, have
signed on as honorary co-captains of TEAM PARKINSON. Holly
Robinson-Peete’s father suffers from the disease.

TEAM PARKINSON is a cooperative effort by runners, cyclists, walkers and
boosters to raise money for Parkinson's disease research. Athletes will
participate in events staged by the Los Angeles Marathon scheduled for
Sunday, March 5th, 2000.

Three of the individuals with Parkinson’s participating in the LA
Marathon events are John Ball, Tom Brown and Mary Yost. John, an
executive with North American Honda has run the marathon in the past.
This year he will collect funds for Parkinson’s research. Young-onset
Parkinson’s leader Tom Brown will ride the 26-mile bicycle course and
advocate Mary Yost will walk the entire marathon route. In addition,
Parkinson’s advocates from all over the United States are coming to Los
Angeles to take part in the event.

Besides raising funds, organizers of TEAM PARKINSON will promote
Parkinson’s awareness in the Southern California area. They hope to
provide people suffering from Parkinson’s better access to information
regarding support and education. Special emphasis will be placed on
reaching out to minorities.

TEAM PARKINSON at the Los Angeles Marathon has been organized by the
Parkinson's Unity Walk along with the Parkinson Alliance and a volunteer
committee from the Southern California area. Funds raised will benefit
the American Parkinson Disease Association; the Parkinson’s Institute,
the National Parkinson Foundation, the Parkinson’s Action Network, and
the Parkinson's Disease Foundation.
