Hi Barbara: Most serious is possible decrease in white blood cell count, which is monitored by weekly blood tests for first six months, and bi-weekly thereafter. Other possible side-effects include sedation, drooling, tachycardia, and weight gain. That said, let me add that it is a very effective medication.
