degeneration in PD & AD

Synaptic degeneration and death of nerve cells are defining
features of Alzheimer's disease (AD) and Parkinson's disease
(PD), the two most prevalent age-related neurodegenerative
disorders.

Can PD truly be defined any longer as an "age-related" disorder?
That implies that onset begins at a certain, usually advanced
age. Today the range falls somewhere between 20 and 80 years of
age with the average continuing to decline.

With the increasing prevalence of YOPD down to the late teens and
early 20s --- "age-related" no longer seems to apply (unless that
means any time after birth).

What are your opinions?
