On January 6, the following news item prompted me to write to
Schwarz Pharma re the status of the 'Parkinson-Patch.'

Company Press Release

RICHMOND, Va.--(BW HealthWire)--Dec. 27, 1999--SCHWARZ PHARMA and
Discovery Therapeutics Inc., Richmond Virginia (USA), today announced
that they are expanding their 1998 collaboration for the Parkinson-Patch

"We are pleased to obtain the full worldwide rights to this promising
product. Clinical Phase II studies have shown exciting results.'' said
Lars Ekman, MD, PhD, Member of the board of SCHWARZ PHARMA AG. ``The
Parkinson-Patch spearheads SCHWARZ PHARMA's competence in the field of
central nervous system diseases. DTI is a promising innovative company
and we look forward to a closer collaboration.''

Subject: Parkinson's Patch

Dear Ms. Richards:

Thank you for your recent inquiry concerning the Parkinson's patch now
in development by Schwarz Pharma. We are currently testing the product
in Phase II studies to identify the appropriate doses for additional
testing. If the results are positive, the compound will be tested in
Phase III trials, where we will collect efficacy and safety data for
submission to the FDA.

Therefore, this product is still about 3 years away from submission to
the FDA, assuming the test results are supportive. Schwarz Pharma will
release results as they become available and will make sure that these
are posted on our website at www.schwarzusa.com and on websites for
Parkinson's disease.

Thank you very much for your interest. Please do not hesitate to contact
us if you have additional questions. We wish you all the best and want
to assure you we are moving forward as quickly as possible in the
development of the patch.

Regards,

Terry Prime
Schwarz Pharma
