My wife, Doris 77/7, Took Tasmar in 98, developed severe diarrhea, dropped
Tasmar and began Comtan when it became available.
Tasmar was a blessing. Dyskinesia and off phenomena were sharply reduced.
We cut back on Sinemet and she had a significant increase in energy. She
took three doses of 100mg for one month and when she increased he dosage to
200 (3x) she had a major attack of diarrhea. We stopped Tasmar. When things
were stabilized we tried Tasmar again with 100 (3x, but diarrhea broke out
again and we abandoned Tasmar.
Comtan has been much less effective. At first we thought there was some
improvement, but now we believe that its advantage is slight.
Has anyone else had our experience with Tasmar and then was able to return
to it, with a very gradual titration. I think we would be willing to go
back to Tasmar if we felt that there was a dosage regimen which would
eliminate the diarrhea.
She had similar experience with Permax. She had started it and developed
severe nausea. We abandoned it and then a new neuro started us again with a
minimum dosage and then a very slow buildup. Permax was an excellent addition.
Unfortunately, there is far too little research on dosage problems
To repeat: Has anyone experienced a dosage regimen of Tasmar which had
avoided diarrhea?
