Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation March 2k FWIW, here is the meager crop of references from my Current Science Reviews files about TMS: Paus T et al; J Neurosci 1997;17:3178-3184: PET study aided by transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). Abbruzzese G et al; Mov Disord 1997;12:315-321: They compared the response to transcranial magnetic stimulation of sensory and motor evoked potential, in 15 patients with multiple system atrophy, 20 PD patients, and 20 healthy controls, finding no differences of diagnostic value. Ghabra M et al; Neur 1999;52:768-770: Testing to verify a prior finding failed to show that simultaneous repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) improved the fine movement speed of PD patients. Tergau F et al; Neur 1999;52:1060-1063: They studied the effect of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) in 18 RLS patients and 17 controls, finding that the motor cortex is hyperexcitable in RLS, but suggesting that the origin of RLS is subcortical (supraspinal).
