Ms. Hepburn has been stating - for YEARS - that she has essential tremor and
NOT Parkinson's disease. Unfortunately, there are some real idiots in the
media who just can't get it through their heads that everything that shakes
IS NOT Parkinson's disease.

I was one of the people involved in starting the International Tremor
Foundation which shared the old United Parkinson Foundation's offices in
Chicago for almost 10 years before it was moved to Kansas. In the early
days of the ITF, we asked Ms. Hepburn (through representatives) if she'd be
a spokesperson for us. Unfortunately, though she hoped the organization
would spur more information about ET for the general public - and maybe that
would result in people accepting her statement that her tremors are from ET
and not PD - her choice of charities to support lay in a different
direction.

This is just one more reason to ALWAYS check out statements made via the
media.
