I thought the substania nigra part of the non-diseased human brain is so called because it appears dark compared to other portions of the brain. This "darkness" would then be normal, not disease caused. If this is WRONG, I hope someone like Dr. Bob F.or Joe Bruman or Michel Margois who are trained in the sciences will speak up.
