Jeanette, My understanding is that the Alliance is collecting the money for seed grants and then using the peer review boards of all three national organizations for their recommendations for grants. I strongly believe this is where we can get the most value for the dollar. The government still has the biggest bucks to give out for research and if we can get qualified people to apply for them... AND, the Tuckman Foundation is matching funds dollar for dollar. Bless them. So, you can't beat that. Our support groups, in Houston, decided to give money we had collected for research, to the Alliance to use for seed grants. I am still placing cans and just picked up 8 of them for a total of $313. Not that much, but it will be doubled and it could be compounded if more people would make the little effort it takes to ask to put a can somewhere. So, go to it and thanks from all of us.
