Jessica, I've not noticed any  on-list answers to your question, but there
are several ways of measuring the progression of PD commonly used,   I
refer you in particular to:

But don't give up hope - the scientific community is making progress, and
we expect a cure in the near future - hopefully before your father - and
indeed I - get to the worst stages.

Our Dallas support group, DAPS, has produced a tape, "A Story of Hope,"
which you might find of interest.  Formal free distribution of this tape is
over, but we do have a few copies available still at no charge for those
who might find it of interest and who request it, sending me their
snail-mail address.
