Dear list members,
I'm forwarding Fred Kreb's latest message about Barb. She's still in
Kansas University Medical Center and has had a setback. Both Barb and
Fred would appreciate any messages of support from the list, I'm sure.
Please send to Fred's email - [log in to unmask]
Thanks,
Linda

--------- Forwarded message ----------
Wednesday Barbara acted like she was ready to go home. She fed herself.
Her voice was strong. She said she could walk to the bathroom. Maybe
the new regimen of sinemet, parlodel, and cotam ? kicked in. Maybe it
was the four grape popsicles that hydrated her throat so that she could
eat. I do not know.
Early this morning 3/30 the hospital called and said that Barbara had
nausea,
she was unable to move much, and she could not eat. I went over and
stayed
almost three hours. Itaught my world history class and then was in the
middle of my once a week WEst Civ discussion class when the program
director
came in and told me that Barbara's brother needed me to call the hospital

since she said she was in a Parkinson's crisis and wanted to go back to
the
ICU. I did not know what to expect. Barbara was pretty much as she had
been
in the week since she left the ICU on 3/22. She is weak, cannot move,
has
difficulty swallowing, and complains of never being comfortable, and that
her
throat inside her mouth is tight. She is concerned about her current
meds.
She is taking every four hours four times a day 1.5 sinemet tabs
25/100, 5
mg Parlodel, and the Comtan? which works similarlly to Tasmar. She also
has
re-started taking 3 25mg of Elavil at bedtime. She takes Adavan for
anti-anxiety and muscle relaxer and she is takin perikan? for pain. Her

stomach is distended. She is not eating, and she seems to be
constipated.
Please pass this report along and my address. I would like to hear from
folks. Fred
