[GEEK-MODE]

You'll have to excuse me, I really am a big techno-geek at
heart. But, here are some of the reasons that I *love* Al-
     taVista:

In the normal search, you can:

Parkinsons The "P" must be upper-case on the page
parkinsons Upper or lower case will not matter
Special characters (like ') are always ignored
+parkinsons The "+" says that term must appear on the page
-sinemet The "-" says that term must not appear on the page
"parkinsons disease" The "s say that the words must appear next to each other

In the advanced search, you can:

carbidopa and levodopa The "and" says both terms must appear on the page
carbidopa or levodopa The "or" says either terms can appear on the page
bill and not frank The "not" says the word must not appear on the page
Nots are evaluated first, then ands, then ors
Use () to cause different order evaluations to occur
bill near geek The "near" says must appear within 10 words of each other

Also, in addition to terms, words, or phrases in either search
     you can:

domain:parkinsons.org The "domain:" finds pages only at that site
title:parkinsons The "title:" finds pages with that word in the title
url:parkinsons The "url:" finds pages with that word in the URL
image:brain.jpg The "image:" finds pages with a specific image file name

There is, much, much more. But, like I said, I'm a geek and
this type of power and flexibility appeals to my techno-nerd-per-
     sona. :-)

[!-- Yeah, right! :-)]

Have fun, happy searching, and take care ...
