Bob, the operation went fairly well, he will be moved to a vascular unit
today, difficult to get the PD stuff across, but I did it. I made them tape
a list of medications not to be given on the front of the chart, and I made
arrangements with our neurologist to be informed of everything, and I mean
everything. Most times the surgeon doesn't worry about anything else except
the surgery and I can't blame them, but in cases like we have, the PD is just
as important. They gave Brig minimum dozes of Sinement during the operation
and immediately after through the IV. He has no strength in his legs and
that worries me, but once the tube is out of the stomach and he can have his
medication by mouth, I hope things will improve. I also was in touch with
the Movement Disorder Specialist in Philadelphia that we see. Wasn't taking
any chances, after the horror stories I have heard.
The anyuerism had progressed to 5.0 which is where our surgeon operates,
until it reached that size, he just monitored it with ultra sound.
Thanks your concern. Hope you guys are hanging in there, like there's
anything else we can do.
Gerry and Brig
