The terminology is confusing. Here is the complete entry covering PD in the Social Security "Listing of Impairments", which SSA uses to determine disability: "11.06 Parkinsonian syndrome with the following signs: Significant rigidity, bradykinesia, or tremor in two extremities, which, singly or in combination, result in sustained disturbance of gross and dexterous movements, or gait and station." This suggests that "Parkinsonian syndrome" includes idiopathic PD. I suspect that the terminology is rather old. Phil Tompkins Amherst, Mass age 62 / dx 1990
