speaking of InterNet and e-mail limitations,
the above is a good example of another type of speed-bump on the cyber-highway

1. the option "multi-part messages"
2. the character set "iso-8859-1"
3. "MIME format"
4. "attachments"

all of the above are "pseudo-bells-and-whistles"
added to some e-mail software by some manufacturers [guess who?]
in a deluded, not-to-say misguided, possibly even arrogant attempt
to 'make' InterNet e-mail messages 'behave' like WWWeb HTML documents

they are all NO-NO's for InterNet e-mail general
and for InterNet mailing lists in particular

inho
the profusion of InterNet e-mail hoaxes and worms and viri
are 99% nerd backlash [immature, granted]
at this ultimate dumb idea
