Hi All, Michael J. Fox gave David Letterman a cap with the embroidered michealjfox.org so I added the http://www and went to see it. I'm disappointed... I mighta known... They went for all the bells and whistles so the site won't work right unless you have an expensive modern PC that also has all the bells and whistles. You need to enable frames and animation and have Shockwave 4.0 I wish web designers would pay attention to the accessibility guidelines especially when it comes to the sites that the average financially challenged Parkinsonian might like to surf. They could take a lesson from the absolute no nonsense approach adopted by Janet Paterson's site. It loads fast, looks the same on every browser and requires a minimal hardware investment. Kudos to you Janet Paterson. I tried this site on a 386 with Win 3.1 (very slow, impossible). Then I tried it on a 486 with Win 95 and Netscape (still almost impossibly slow). Same hardware and Opera - now semi ok... Maybe I'm all wet here but I think some sites have a problem. Try these sites and tell us if any of them give any *trouble*. http://www.michaeljfox.org this site took 38 sec. to load the first page on a 28.8 modem the frames nature requires a frames capable browser and was best read by right clicking on the active frame and maximizing that frame and then zooming to 140%. If you don't have shockwave loaded and active this site won't look right. http://www.parkinson.org this site took 36 seconds to load, but it is easy to navigate with *buttons* on every page and has a text only version. http://pdweb.mgh.harvard.edu/ this puppy takes a full minute to load and again the frames nature requires a frames capable browser and was best read by right clicking on the active frame and maximizing that frame and then zooming. http://www.parkinsonscare.com/ 48 sec. to load, shows promise, very pretty... http://www.geocities.com/janet313/pienet/wwweb/index.html 6 sec. to load (hey, I'm pedjudiced) 6 more sec. for each subsequent page. Kool! Did I say I was predjudiced? let us have your comments... is ssllloooowwwww 'n pretty the way to go?? Keeping in mind that not everyone has a Pentium and high speed connection.
