Carol,

The approval for DBS to be done in the US in the STN and Globus pallidus has
gone through the necessary scientific committee at the FDA. The final
(usually rubber stamp) approval must go through a final FDA committee and I
am not sure whether it has  occurred yet but check with your doctor or
possibly Medtronic. who makes the stimulator.

Then there should be no problem with Medicare.
