Joe, I have given this a lot of thought and feel in my case hiding PD was the right decision at the time. Several reasons caused me to do this. First, the police department I worked for is relatively small with 25 full-time officers. There is not much wiggle-room for "light duty" assignments. Also, during the early stages of my PD the ADA didn't exist. Almost any other type of occupation and I would probably could have worked much longer. I suppose each PWP has to consider his own circumstances and base his decision on them. It's an agonizing path no matter what is which road is taken..
