It is my sad duty to report that Robert Connors was killed in a motorcycle
accident yesterday June 22. He was caught in a sudden violent thunderstorm,
and apparently a truck crossed the midline. Although he suffered massive
internal injuries he was able to call his wife after the accident, but he
lost his pulse on the way to the hospital.
His dedication to the field of composition studies has been exemplary. He
will be missed as a major scholar in the field, and as a wonderfully
gregarious and witty colleague whose passions ran from Aristotle to
professional wrestling.
As yet there are no plans for a funeral service or memorial service.
