Dear Laura-- if it is applicable, I can tell you that Peter , who is at
this point very at risk for hallucnations and confusion, is taking Seroquel
with pretty good results. (a 25mg tab 4X a day, at least 4 hrs apart). When
Comtan was introduced I asked his excellent neuro about it---he chose NOT
to give it to Peter because he said it would incrase the hallucinations IN
HIS CASE. As you know, all PWPs are unique in their responses to meds.
This does suggest, however, that your Les may be at a similar point. Some
neuros go for any new drug that comes along, and there are PWPs who do well
on Comtan---be aware also that Sinemet and the agonists can be the
culprits, and that should also be checked. Peter is now taking only 1mg of
Requip, where once he was up to 9mg, and cutting that has helped also.

Hallucinations and dementia in general are the pits! Harder to deal with
for both parties ,I think, than the physical part of PD. I do hope you can
get things stabilized. If he is not seeing a movement disorder
specialist, who is very familiar with the variations of PD, please consider
at least a consultation with an MDS.
