Kathrynne, I am sorry to write this as a reply but I can't seem to post my questions to the PARKINSON'S INFORMATION EXCHANGE NETWORK. This subject should be: DIAHRRHEA QUESTION & ANTIDEPRESSANT ADVICE I have 2 questions on how to improve my Mom's quality of life. She was diagnosed with PD 20 years ago and is in "a very advanced stage" according to the evaluation by a PD specialist in January. She is virtually wheelchair bound and she cannot take agonists anymore because she is very sensitive to dyskinesias. She is now on Sinemet 25/100 and Comtan every 4 hours. The problems are: 1. She has almost "explosive" diarrhea or watery stool once or twice a day. She is miserable and the nurse at her assisted living facility is not seeing this as a problem because I do not think the care managers are reporting the frequency and she says it is not diarrhea. Any ideas for solutions? Is this a PD problem or a PD meds problem? I have also ordered Kathrynne Holden's nutrition book to see if I can get the nurse and or her doctor to order a better diet. 2. Mom is very depressed (understandably!) and has always been an anxious worrier. She had been on Paxyl and now the neuro is trying Zoloft (she had the diarrhea problem before he switched). Any suggestions? Anyone using Celexa with success? Any advice would be most appreciated. Sincerely, Robin
