Judy: The E. C, Beta Carotene and (I think) the Stresstab (all of which are
either Neuro prescribed or Movement Disorder Specialist prescribed) are all
antioxidants to combat free radicals in the body. Someone more medical than
me will have to say why it is important to neutralize free radicals. The
Selenium and grape juice are also antioxidants added by me with their
concurrence. I guess you can't have too many antioxidants. The Gluchosamine
Chondroitin is for joint pain and a stiff neck unrelated to PD; the calcium
is for bone strength also unrelated to PD; and the Coenzyme Q10 is
theoretically for energy and theoretically because it may be neuroprotective
against PD progression. Some form of the latter statement is currently under
test in a few places in the country. I tried to join but they only wanted pwp
who were not yet on medication.

Now for the question you didn't ask -- is any of it doing any good. The
answer is that I don't know if any of it is helping because there is nothing
positive to see. By the same token, would I be worse off in one aspect or
another if I weren't taking all this stuff. The only way to find out is to
stop and I'd rather not, as long as none of it is causing me harm.

By the way, appropriately enough, I forgot to mention that I also take Ginkgo
Biloba for memory. It appears that it may not quite be doing the job.
