To any one who has had DBS At my last visit to my neuro I told him that my stimulator had turned itself off. I said that the only time I could have been near a magnet was when I was looking in the engine area of my car. I had the stimulator checked and turned back on by a Medtronics person (as I feared the battery had gone dead.) My neuro told me of a similar experience by an auto mechanic (ie stimulator turning itself off ) when he worked too closely to the magnetic fields in the engine area. Conclusion- dont get too near the engine of your car Regards Barry
