what reality? by recommending the disuse of ms products you're
avoiding 'reality' and are promoting a fallacy. your message will cause
list members to have a false sense of security thinking, 'oh, alright. if i
don't use internet explorer or outlook i'm home free.' while it is true
that it seems ms products are targeted, using other software is NO
guarantee you won't get a virus or a worm.
using virus protection software does protect- if one keeps it
updated. there are devious people out there in cyber-space who take
delight in releasing viruses and worms. if the use of ms products was
discontinued, do you think they would stop doing this? hardly.

those on the list who are not computer literate value your opinions. why
are you not recommending the use of virus protection software???? do you
use one yourself? the cost of these type of programs is minimal-- you can
even use a program online called 'housecall' free. (i've recommended this
as have other list members.) the first time it 'catches' a virus or a worm
and prevents it from attacking your computer, you will not only breathe a
sigh of relief, but you'll also realize the value of these programs.

so before we trash ms software and bill gates again, let's give ourself a
real reality check - and promote the use of virus protection software.

btw i fail to see your logic in comparing 'having' to get pd with 'having'
to change software. maybe you could explain further.

but there are a lot of things we shouldn't "have" to do
like get pd for one
