Over the years, hundreds and hundreds of people on the Parkinsn list have been bewildered with all the instructions on how to manage their mail at the listserv. We represent all levels of computer expertise and skill. In reality, the longer the time between when we first subscribed and now...we forget how to do things. Those of you that are experienced read anyway, there is new stuff here. CHANGING YOUR PARKINSN MAIL OPTIONS: The P-I-E-N-O Parkinsn Online website now has preconfigured buttons which will handle, through your email program, your interactions with the listserv. Once you click a button, your email program will open and the correct information is already entered. All you do is send it. It is that easy. You or others can subscribe, leave the list, suspend Parkinsn Mail, change to digest method of Parkinsn mail delivery, receive copies of your Parkinsn postings, or receive acknowledgement that your post to Parkinsn was distributed. Of course, if you haven't looked at the Parkinsn's List Online, you don't know that the last 500 messages to the list are available there for reading or replying. Links at the bottom of the page send you to Simon Cole's archive search pages, Parkinsn's Current Topics Index, Parkinsn's Archive Treasures or the world famous Parkinsn's List Drug DataBase. You CANNOT get a virus downloaded into your machine if you read you parkinsn messages at P-I-E-N-O. http://parkinsons-information-exchange-network-online.com Follow the link to Parkinsn Online. **************************************************************************** ******* NEW P-I-E-N-O FEATURES: The search box on the maillist page NOW searches the top 50 Parkinson's sites in the world for factual answers to your search words. All of the international and national organizations are in the database. This search box is different than others on other P-I-E-N-O pages... Try it. I need P-I-E-N-O beta testers. See if documents from your site are listed there and if they are not, email me with the URL to your content directory or index. You can search the entire P-I-E-N-O site which includes the last 500 messages. This is updated every few days. Simon Coles has permitted P-I-E-N-O to put the search box for the Parkinsn Archives on the maillist page and also the Parkinsn's Current Topics Index page. Instructions are right there just click on the appropriate help. **************************************************************************** ******* Everything has a cost. Perhaps you like others would like to make the Parkinsn List Online their starting page in their browser so list mail is the first thing they see when they start Internet Explorer or Netscape. Internet Explorer Instructions: Open Internet Explorer. Go to the Parkinsn List Online at: http://parkinsons-information-exchange-network-online.com/parkmail/maillist. html NOTE: If you click on the above link and it doesn't work..it is because it has to be all on one line. If it is wrapped..it may not work. Alternatively, http://parkinsons-information-exchange-network-online.com is shorter. Just find your way to the Parkinsn's List Messages page. At the top of the Internet Explorer click on the word Tools. Select Internet Options. The very top item in the menu that opens is called Homepage. The box is blue and has the address of your present homepage. A button is below called Use Current. Click that. At the bottom of that page the Apply button is activated. Click on the Apply button and then click the OK button. Close Internet Explorer now and then reopen it. The Parkinsn List Online will be the first page you will see when you open Internet Explorer. Netscape Instructions: Open Netscape. Go to the Parkinsn List Online at: http://parkinsons-information-exchange-network-online.com/parkmail/maillist. html At the very top of the browser, click on the word Edit and select preferences. On the right hand side of the box that opens is a sectioned called Homepage. Click on the button that says Current Page. Then click on the OK button at the bottom. Close Netscape and reopen. Parkinsn List Online will be there every time you open Netscape.
