Hi Mario:

I'm a 67 yr old male, diagnosed 9 years. About 6 years ago I began
experiencing great difficulty sleeping. Finally about two years ago my
neurologist at Mayo Clinic - Jacksonville referred me to Mayo's sleep clinic.
The doctor there diagnosed my problem as a chemical problem in the brain,
not anything that could be helped by changing sleep habits. He tried me on 4
different medications before we discovered Remeron. For me it has been a
miracle. Works about 6 nights out of 7, but I occasionally have to use
Melatonin to get to sleep. My usual dose is 3/4 of a 15mg tablet of Remeron,
but if I feel I really need help when I go to bed I take a full tablet. If I
have a few consecutive nights of good sleep, I cut the dose back to 1/2
tablet. I have no real adverse effects from Remeron but when I take a full
tablet I am kind of sleep and lazy until 10:30 or 11:00 am next morning.

The other 4 medications (one of which was Restoril) gave me the panic attacks
you refer to.

Don;t know if this will be of any help to you. I wish you luck.
