Maryanne We use a completely separate brochure for this purpose. In Australia it is called "Drugs to be used with Caution in Parkinson's Disease". I believe there are similar brochures in the USA. A lot of work was done on this topic several years ago. We encourage every PWP to carry one with them all the time, not just when they are going into hospital. You might search the archives for this form. John Cottingham should know if it is there... Sincerely Joy Graham >The Hospital Form is great. However, I would suggest that a list of meds >contraindicated in PD be added at the end so that the offending meds can be >circled. It is imperative that PD folks **insist** that they may not >recieve the circled meds under any circumstances. Hospital personnel have >a way of questioning patients about whether a 'true allergy' exists when the >med contraindications are mentioned - such meds are added to an allergy >bracelet which the patient wears during hospitalization. Even though the >offending meds do not precipitate an allergic reaction, they can be equally >devastating. >----- >God bless >Mary Ann (CG Jamie 60/20)
